Ile de Ré Holiday Studio Apartment in France

"We loved the island and St Martin . I think I have found my spiritual home. The location of the apartment is superb and it is equipped with absolutely everything you could need. The maps and booklets were particularly useful. We had great fun on the bikes which were a good way of working off all the extra food we ate! We had a great meal at L’Embrun round the corner from the apartment; very welcoming atmosphere and attractive food. Although, we got to Le Loix, La Couarde, Bois en Plage, La Flotte, St Marie and La Noue, there is plenty still for us to explore and I am sure we will return to Ré one day. The only disappointment was that although we saw lots of donkeys, they were not wearing their pyjamas!"

"We had a great time, apart from the mixed weather. We hired some bikes in the end with a little yellow chariot for the baby and covered most of the island over our week. We understand now why you fell in love with the place and we semi-seriously viewed a couple of houses for sale in St Martin!

Your apartment was an ideal base from which to explore and had all the home comforts we needed. We enjoyed discovering the restaurants, particularly Bistro Marin and Belem. Now we are home we are missing fresh oysters, the fantastic fruits de mer and also the crepes....but back to the diet instead....

we definitely hope to return to Ile de Ré soon, and realise we must do something about our school French!

"We had a really great time on Ile de Re - what a gorgeous island. We loved all the long sandy beaches and hired a surf board for a few days which was great. It really is geared up brilliantly for cycling which we enjoyed. We had some poor weather towards the end of the week which was a bit of a shame but certainly didn't stop up doing anything. We thought St Martin was really lovely and also enjoyed wandering round La Flotte and Ars en Re particularly which were also lovely. We had some delicious meals - Le Serghi was probably our fave but the others were all good, thanks for your recommendations. The apartment was great, it is so well kitted out and you really have thought of every detail. It's really great to go somewhere self catering where all the basics, and more, are already there. All we had to buy was food, absolutely everything else was taken care of. We went to the market every morning and could have bought so much more - if only they had markets like that in the UK! Thanks for all your help and advice, it's much appreciated. I hope we will be back again!"

"We had such a fantastic stay, the apartment was perfect and so well equipped and organised. It really was the best self-catering set-up that I have seen. The island itself was so beautiful and we were very lucky with the weather so we were able to explore everywhere. The bikes got used every day to see the various beaches and despite coming home somewhat heavier after eating all the lovely food(!) we could not have asked for more. We will definitely be coming back! I was also amazed how close the apartment was to the airport. Do you let the apartment for weekends?"

"We had a fabulous time on Ile de Re - it really is a beautiful island, with plenty to see and do. Particularly enjoyed sitting in the quayside cafes of St. Martin watching the yachts come and go...and the ice cream was to die for! Getting around the island was easy and we particularly appreciated the use of your two bikes. The apartment had absolutely everything we needed and more - thank you for thinking of everything! "We had a really lovely holiday - great place, great weather, great location and we even used the bikes!!! Great exercise!! - I think we only had 2 lots of rain, both times overnight and it was nice to have a couple of cloudy days. We really enjoyed the pace of life as it was so relaxing loafing about the harbour! We really liked the market - lovely fresh food every day, Serghi's Restaurant and a wee wine bar we found when we cycled to La Couarde. Used the velo bus to go to Les Portes!!
